I want to start off by saying. “TIER LISTS DON’T MEAN A DAMN THING” Does anyone know how the data for a tier list is gathered and compiled? They grab a group of individuals, they play 10 games of each character against each character. They then record the win’s and add them up, this becomes the almighty number that ranks them.
Now Let’s look at how Inaccurate and misleading these Tier lists are. For example I will mention Iplaywinner.coms Tier list. First off, it was comprised of “4″ people. Yes 4 people. Their tier lists gives Rufus the throne of being the best of the best. Now remember, there were 4 people involved. Can you guess JUST one of those 4? I already gave you a hint, he is Top of the top on the list. Can you guess who one of the 4 was?
Now can you see how false these tier lists are? It’s like that new Dominos pizza they keep advertising. How it beat out taste tests from a bunch of people and how it is the best pizza ever! Well I tried it and it sucked and still tasted like cardboard. What does this have to do with tier lists? Simple, That vote was only by a Few people. Those few people Do not represent the world. Get it?
Those people who comprise the Tier Lists DO NOT REPRESENT THE ENTIRE SF COMMUNITY. For a quick example, look at the most recent InthuI vs Sandford match. Fei Long ranks lower(according to Iplaywinner) than both Cammy AND Sagat yet sandford lost and not to mention got perfected by InthuI.
Now I know personally that Tier Lists are just a generalization, but this is written for those who bet their life on it, claiming that picking a top tier character is an automatic win.
So remember kids. TIER LISTS MEANS NOTHING UNLESS YOU WERE PART OF THE DATA OF THAT LIST YOU ARE FOLLOWING.
