Street Fighter 4 Character Unlock Guide. *Corrected Info*

    * Cammy - Beat Arcade Mode with Crimson Viper.
    * Fei Long - Beat Arcade Mode with Abel.
    * Gen - Beat Arcade Mode with Chun Li.
    * Rose - Beat Arcade Mode with M. Bison (Dictator).
    * Sakura - Beat Arcade Mode with Ryu.
    * Dan - Beat Arcade Mode with Sakura.
   


To unlock Akuma as a playable character:

1. Unlock Cammy, Fei Long, Dan, Sakura, Rose, and Gen.

2. Pick a character you have already used to beat Arcade Mode.

3. Win all your matches without continuing and without losing any rounds before fighting with Seth.

4. You need to get at least one "perfect" win in a round, and more than one depending on how many rounds per match you are playing. 

 
- 1 round match: 1 perfect round or more

- 3 round match: 2 perfect rounds or more

- 5 round match: 3 perfect rounds or more

- 7 round match: 4 perfect rounds or more

(including the last battle against Seth)

5. If you meet these conditions, Akuma will appear.  Defeat him to unlock Akuma as a selectable character.

To unlock Gouken as a playable character:

1. Complete Arcade Mode playing as Akuma and watch (not necessary to watch everything) an ending.

2. Then, unlock Gouken as an opponent, and defeat him.

Necessary conditions to unlock Gouken as an opponent:

- Play with any characters with which you watched the ending once (so play using a character you have already beaten the game with)

- Do not continue at all.

- Do not lose at all.  Not even one round (easier if you only play 1-round matches)

- Achieve certain number (or more) of "Perfect" rounds.  The number of Perfect Win you need to achieve are:

  If you play on

  - 1 round match: 1 time or more

  - 3 round match: 2 times or more

  - 5 round match: 3 times or more

  - 7 round match: 4 times or more

- Achieve a certain number (or more) of Super Combo -OR- Ultra Combo Finishes.  Super and Ultra finishes both count toward this number. The number of super/ultra finishes you need to achieve are:

If you play on

  - 1 round match: 3 times or more

  - 3 round match: 5 times or more

  - 5 round match: 7 times or more

  - 7 round match: 9 times or more

 
- Achieve certain number (or more) of First Attack (this means you must score the first strike in a match--the screen gives you the "First Attack" message, and you can mostly do this without even noticing):

  The number of First Attack you need to achieve are:

  If you play on

  - 1 round match: 5 times or more

  - 3 round match: 10 times or more

  - 5 round match: 15 times or more

  - 7 round match: 20 times or more

 
- Then Gouken will appear.  Kick his butt to unlock him!

To unlock Seth - Beating the game with everyone will automatically unlock Seth. No perfects or ultra's needed. Continues allowed.

Not quite right about akuma, it's not enough to just clear arcade with everyone, I know that's what EventHubs used to say.. and some other sites as well.

I don't know exactly what you have to do, but for me it worked with no continues and a couple of perfects and ultra finishes.

I can confirm this method, it worked for me.  I only have Seth left to unlock.

Akuma:

- Unlock all regular characters, this means beat arcade with:  C. Viper, Abel, Chun Li, Dictator, Ryu, and Sakura (you don't have to beat arcade with everyone, just the characters that unlock new characters).  

- Start a new arcade mode, get 2 perfect rounds, 2 ultra finishes and do not use a continue, Akuma will challenge you after Seth, beat him and you unlock him.

*** Make sure you only get 2 ultra finishes.  I got 3 and Gouken challenged me instead the first time.  I restarted and only got 2 and it was Akuma.  


Gouken:

- Once you unlock Akuma make sure you play through his arcade and beat it (Gouken won't challenge you, regardless if you get 2 perfects and 3 ultras).  

- Now that you've finished arcade with Akuma we can go after Gouken.  Start a new arcade with someone you already beat arcade with.  Get 2 perfects, 3+ ultra finishes and do not use a continue.  Gouken will challenge you after Seth, beat him and he unlocks.  


There may be some shortcuts to this, I'm not sure, but these steps will get you Akuma and Gouken.  HadoukenTv's instructions were right, just figured I'd help throw in a few small details.

I also heard there is a glitch about with getting Gouken that there is a chance you won't get him on your first try when you beat him.  Some friends told me that they didn't get him until their 3rd-5th try.

To unlock Seth just beating arcade mode with the other 24 characters, you don't have to do anything special like do 2 perfects and 2 ultras finishes.

That's how I unlocked Seth.

To unlock Seth - Beating the game with everyone will automatically unlock Seth. No perfects or ultra's needed. Continues allowed.

i got akuma just by getting 2 perfects and 1 ultra finish. so i think as long as you can get 1 ultra ko you will be fine.

Easiest way to get all characters is set the arcade mode on "Easiest" "1 round" "30 seconds" and use M.Bison or E.Honda.
Just use their Charge Psycho Crusher or Ehondas Charge headbutt and it will be easy as pie!

Do you have to do it like all at the same time? I beat the arcade with Akuma last night - then came back today and did all the "get to him" stuff.

For the 360:

This is probably a combination of factors, but I couldn't unlock Akuma for my brother. I completed the game using all other characters, only then Akuma appeared after two perfects on easiest / 1 round, with no ultras. I realised this is what I had done on my own account the first time round too before I unlocked him... perhaps this helps.

The 2 perfects / ultra thing is up for debate. Akuma crashed on my completing on hardest using Zangief with only one perfect, which REALLY annoyed me as he killed me :p

Multiple times.
The first go around with Akuma there's nothing specific I have to do, right?
Otherwise I start a new game (I can do it with Akuma right [wouldn't seem like it]), 2 perfects, 3 Ultras. I save one Ultra for my Rival and one Ultra for Seth (just to punish him more) - is that wrong in anyway?

/pouts/ Why does it have to be so damned specific? Why can't it be "do at LEAST 2 perfects and 3 Ultras. My first go around I killed everyone with an Ultra.....blah
